Pituitary Vasopressin and Octreotide in the Treatment of Upper Gastrointestinal Hemorrhage Caused by Liver Cirrhosis

2012
Objective To investigate the hemostatic effect of pituitary vasopressin combined with octreotide in the treatment of upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage caused by liver cirrhosis. Methods The clinical data of 87 patients with upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage caused by liver cirrhosis in our hospital were analyzed retrospectively. The control group(42 cases) received conventional hemostatic therapy, while the observation group(43 cases) received the treatment of pituitary vasopressin combined with octreotide plus conventional hemostatic therapy. The curative effect, incidence of adverse reactions, effective time and hemostatic time were compared. Results Total effective rate was 95.35% in the observation group and 71.43% in the control group, the difference between two groups was statistically significant(P 0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions was 13.95% in the observation group and 14.29% in the control group, the difference between two groups was not statistically significant(P 0.05).The effective time and hemostatic time were(5.64 ± 1.34) hours and(10.85 ± 2.29) hours in the observation group,(9.34 ± 1.98) hours and(14.61 ± 2.75) hours in the control group respectively;the differences between two groups were statistically significant(P 0.05).Conclusions Pituitrin combined with octreotide combination therapy in the treatment of upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage caused by liver cirrhosis has good efficacy, quick effect and few adverse reactions.
