Synthesis of yttrium citrate from yttrium carbonate hydroxide and citric acid

2020
Abstract The reactions of citric acid with freshly precipitated basic carbonate under the hydrothermal conditions (at 80, 100 and 120 °C) were studied in order to obtain yttrium citrate. The obtained results of the analysis for the H and C contents, thermogravimetric studies and structure analysis by XRD indicate that yttrium citrate dihydrate was formed after the 72 h - synthesis. The particle size analysis method of static light scattering showed that 72% of the particles had a diameter of 0.1–02 μm and 28% of particles with sizes from 0.5 to 10 μm.
