Congestion Control in Lan-to-Lan Connections

The entire design and simulation process of an algorithm is presented to reduce congestion in networks from point to point. A state of the art recompilation is established in terms of current end-to-end networks and their weaknesses are discussed. The algorithm is designed as a series of steps that must be followed according to the metrics related to such networks. Using the same methodology, a testing framework is applied to the algorithm through variations of the resulting network with the ns2 software. The simulations are carried out over different scenarios and are compared to the results of real end-to-end network. Several recommendations and conclusions shown by the research are included as well as ideas regarding future work.
