2017
The study included twenty four (24) buffaloes with diarrhoea reported with complaint of anorexia or inappetence, less water intake, loose to watery faeces with increased frequency of defaecation, yellow to greenish colouration having foul smell and bubbles, hematochezia and also melena. The diagnosis was based on clinical signs and cultural examination. Bacteria isolated from faecal swab samples were E. coli, Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp. and Bacillus spp. Antibiogram profile of isolates revealed fluoroquinolone group of antibiotics (Ciprofloxacin and Norfloxacin) was the most sensitive followed by Ceftriaxone.
