The value of insulin pump in the treatment of type 2 diabetes with secondary failure to sulfonylureas

Objective To observe the value of Insulin pump in the treatment of type 2 diabetes with secondary failure to sulfonylureas.Methods We reviewed eight cases with SFS, in which the patients were given intensive therapy by insulin pump, and then immediately changed to multiple subcutaneous injection of Novolin 30R.We analyze the effect of their blood sugar control and the time to reach the control before and after the treatment.As a result, the eight patients’ blood sugar all decreased obviously, the average time to reach the control was 5.5 days.They all smoothly transferred into multiple subcutaneous injection of Novolin 30R.Their blood sugar control remained stable.Conclusion Insulin pump intensive therapy in short period of time for type 2 diabetes with SFS can quickly re-control the blood sugar, and guide the clinical use of Novolin 30R.
