[Ambulatory follow-up of patients with respiratory tract tuberculosis and ways of its improvement].

1999
: Analysis of registry groups I and II patient cohorts indicated that to follow up the patients in the active tuberculosis groups were unpracticable. Based on the their own findings and the WHO recommendations on treatment, the authors made some amendments to the existing classification. According to the therapeutical categories identified by the WHO, only patients receiving basic chemotherapy should be followed up in registry group I. Group II is intended for patients with active, including fading, pulmonary tuberculosis who have undergone complete treatment irrespective of its efficiency or who have not received therapy, who require for conditional measures in the foci of tuberculous infection. The developed classification allowed one to reduce the follow-up period and to accelerate clinical recovery and to determine the number of patients in whom rational therapy was ineffective.
