Video data storing method and device

The invention discloses a video data storing method and device. The method comprises the steps of acquiring video data obtained through a camera, wherein the video data include data of images continuously shot by the camera; detecting a target image from the video data, wherein the target image is an image the content of which is identical with that of an adjacent image; removing the image data corresponding to the target image to obtain video data without the target image; storing the video data obtained after the target image is removed. By the adoption of the method and device, the problem that the data size of videos to be stored is large along with the prolonging of monitoring time is solved, and the effect of reducing video data storage capacity is realized.
