Significados da Reabilitação em Hanseníase - Diferentes Olhares

Resumo: O estudo refere-se a uma pesquisa qualitativa, de cunho etnografico, realizado no Instituto Estadual de Dermatologia Sanitaria, no Rio de Janeiro, com o objetivo de avaliar a atencao prestada durante a reabilitacao das pessoas acometidas pela hanseniase. Foram entrevistados dez usuarios e oito profissionais de saude atuantes nesse processo. Na analise de conteudo, as seguintes categorias foram utilizadas: atencao a pessoa acometida pela hanseniase, qualidade do atendimento, percepcoes sobre a doenca, significados da reabilitacao, e papel dos diferentes profissionais, com enfase no terapeuta ocupacional. Os dados mostram que a demora em obter o diagnostico na rede de servicos levou ao surgimento de sequelas em alguns usuarios. Os usuarios tiveram dificuldade em definir o significado de reabilitacao e muitos profissionais consideravam a reabilitacao e a prevencao de incapacidades como sinonimos. Constatou- se dificuldade, tanto por parte dos usuarios, quanto dos demais profissionais, em compreender a contribuicao do terapeuta ocupacional para a atencao integral a hanseniase. Abstract: The study refers to a qualitative, ethnographic , held at the State Institute of Sanitary Dermatology , in Rio de Janeiro, with the objective of evaluating the care provided during rehabilitation of persons affected by leprosy . Eight to ten users active health professionals were interviewed in this process. In content analysis, the following categories were used: care for people affected by leprosy, quality of care, perceptions of illness, meanings of rehabilitation and the role of different professionals, with emphasis on the occupational therapist. The data show that the delay in making the diagnosis in the service network has led to the emergence of sequelae in some users. Users had difficulty in defining the meaning of rehabilitation and many professionals considered the rehabilitation and prevention of disability as synonymous. The difficulty, both from users, as other professionals in understanding the contribution of occupational therapists to provide comprehensive care to leprosy.
