Determination of lens aberrations using the holographic interferogram of pupils recorded for two different points of the image plane

The authors have already proposed a method (see Opt. Comm., vol.33, p.123, 1980) for separately determining the coma and spherical aberration, which used the interferogram of two pupils that were recorded for the same point of the image and slightly shifted. The method now proposed allows the recorded pupils to interfere for two different points which are separated by a given value and enables coma, astigmatism, field curvature, and distortion to be determined.
