The Inconel affair at Électricité de France or “Coriou's syndrome”

Abstract The history of the choice of Alloy 600 for the steam generators of French pressurized water reactors is remembered. The context and the evolution of the “Coriou's syndrome” are commented from the EDF side, together with the evolution of the alloy (heat treatments) and the moving to the Alloy 690.
