UNIFORMITY IN SHOCK TESTING

1961
The use of shock spectra techniques for the measurement and control of uniformity in shock testing was studied. Shock pulses at several levels and durations from three laboratory shock machines were compared using spectra analysis. By extending the shock spectrum analysis to include multidegree-of- freedom systems instead of only single-degree-of-freedom systems, it was concluded that shock spectra techniques do not offer a practical method of measurement and control of uniformity in shock testing. These techniques can be used in some circumstances for correcting for deviations in wave shapes inherent in a particular machine. (auth)
