PRELIMINARY DEVELOPMENT OF RADIONUCLIDES RELEASE OF INDIVIDUAL DOSE CODE PROGRAM FOR RADIATION MONITORING PURPOSES

2021
Environmental radiation monitoring is one of the important efforts in protecting society and the environment from radiation hazards, both natural and artificial. The presence of three nuclear research reactors and plans to build a nuclear power plant reactor in Indonesia prompted Indonesia to prepare a radiation monitoring system for safety and security (SPRKK). With this system, it will be easier for nuclear installation owners and community to monitor the presence of radiation in the environment as well as its anomaly around the nuclear installation. The system consists of real time radiation acquisition and monitor data to as well as radiation model and simulation for radionuclides release during nuclear reactor accident. These two radiation measure will be able to identity the presence of radiation anomaly that might indicate leakage from nuclear installation due to nuclear accident. The model includes estimation of source term from the nuclear installation release of radionuclides into air using Gaussian diffusion approach, fall into soil and enter to human being as individual doses through inhalation, direct external exposure and resuspension. In this simulation, author used source term data from  SimPacts Version 0.1. This individual dose will be compared to a permitted individual dose to declare accident and emergency status. The model has been successfully developed and some suggestion for integration into radiation monitoring system has been recommended.
