RADLAC II lead pulse stability
1985
The goal of the RADLAC II lead pulse stability experiment is to demonstrate that a beam with current in excess of 40 kA is capable of propagating a substantial fraction of a Nordsieck length in full density air. The nominal RADLAC II beam parameters are 45 kA, 60-ns FWHM, and a beam radius of 0.8-1.0 cm radius. These parameters should enable us to observe the enhanced stability of high-current beams predicted by theory.
