Rear suspension for bicycle.

2004
The suspension (100) comprises a rear triangular frame (10) with its rear end supporting the back wheel (600) and a damping hydraulic cylinder (40) connecting the rear frame to the front triangular frame supporting the front wheel. The cylinder comprises a cylindrical casing (41) and piston rod (42), one of which is pivotally connected to either the front or rear triangular frame, the other being pivotally connected to the other triangular frame. The suspension has a virtual rotation point which is located at the back wheel midpoint when this wheel moves relative to the front frame and which is located next to a connection between the chain and front driven gear wheel (510) when the piston rod travels a distance relative to the casing between one quarter and one third of the maximum possible distance. The virtual rotation point is displaced towards the rear when the back wheel is lifted up from the ground.
