Production cross sections and charge state spectra of low-Z recoil ions in composite media

Abstract Preliminary results relating to the production characteristics and the detection of recoil ions upon the interaction of heavy charged particles (M 1 Z 1 ⪢ M 2 Z 2 ) with the low-Z atomic constituents of a polymeric cellulose nitrate SSNTD media are described. Some quantitative considerations are given with respect to the production such recoils and their charge states.
