Infrared spectra at room and at low temperature of single crystals of 3(4-chlorophenyl) 2-cyanopropenonitrile

1983
Abstract The oriented single crystals of 3(4-chlorophenyl)2-cyanopropenonitrile, assignments at ambient and liquid nitrogen temperature, are reported for most of the bands, observed from 4000-300 cm −1 in the i.r. spectra. It is interesting to notice that remarkable crystal field effects were pointed out in the spectra. Neither the temperature dependence in the i.r., nor the specific heat between 40-7 K and differential thermal analysis between 293 and 120 K revealed the existence of a transition.
