Europium (III) coordination polymers micro/nanostructures: A ligand structureeffect

2013
Abstract Europium coordination polymers (CPs) micro/nanostructures have been prepared via a simple solvothermal method using N, N-dimethylformamide (DMF) as a solvent and the three isomers of benzenedicarboxylic acid as ligand. The products were characterized by X-Ray diffraction (XRD), infrared spectroscopy (IR) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Barrett–Emmett–Teller (BET) nitrogen sorption and thermal analysis were also carried out. SEM results demonstrated that the morphologies of the products differed sharply from each other. The photoluminescence (PL) intensity of the product built from terephthalic acid was much stronger than that of the other two. It turned out that the morphologies and properties of the products were ligand-structuretuned.
