Non-Symmetric Beam Cross Sections

The main axis system \( \left( {x,y,z} \right) \), with \( x \) in direction of the beam span, is the axis system of pure bending according to a linear variation of the strain distribution across the cross section as illustrated in Fig. 8.1.
