Electrochemical reduction of 4,4-dimethyl-1-phenyl-1-penten-3-one

Abstract This paper reports a study of the electrochemical behaviour of 4,4-dimethyl-1-phenyl-1-penten-3-one on a DME. This compound gives rise to two one-electron processes in an acid medium. The theoretical treatment applied, based on the method of non-dimensional variables, has allowed the authors to determine whether the intermediate radical formed in the first process remains adsorbed when the second one-electron transfer takes place.
