Comparative study on ziprasidone and risperidone in the treatment of schizophrenia patients

Objective To compare the clinical effects and side effects of ziprasidone and risperidone in the treatment of schizophrenia.Methods The schizophrenic patients were randomly divided into ziprasidone group and risperidone group.The clinical effects and side effects were observed by the PANSS and TESS.Results The overall efficacy rate of ziprasidone(64.29%) was higher than that of risperidone(42.85%).There were statistical differences in total score,N and G subscale scores of PANSS between the two groups(P0.01).Conclusion Ziprasidone is superior to risperidone,especially to negative symptoms.
