DINÂMICAS TERRITORIAIS E DESENVOLVIMENTO REGIONAL NA AMÉRICA LATINA: UM ESTUDO DE EXPERIÊNCIAS NO BRASIL E NO MÉXICO

2021
This article aims to analyze the territorial approach from a multidimensional perspective, from the angle of public policies for the development of rural territories. Therefore, we carried out two case studies: one in Brazil, the Vale do Rio Pardo Rural Territory located in the State of Rio Grande do Sul and another in Mexico, the Atenco-Texcoco Region located in the State of Mexico. To achieve the proposed objective, we have subdivided this article into two sections, in addition to the introduction. The first discusses the Development of Rural Territories with a view to Latin America, and the second addresses multidimensionality, understood as the interaction of social, economic, cultural, political and environmental aspects in the configuration of the Territory. Finally, the final considerations about the theme addressed. It is concluded, therefore, that the multidimensional approach is quite complex, considering that the dynamics of the territory must not overestimate any of the dimensions of development, but rather understand that multidimensionality in the territorial approach is the key condition for the valorization of potentialities and particularities of a given territory. Thus, it is understood that social participation is fundamental to the construction of development processes.
