Born global y empresas internacionalizadas del sector de elaboración de compotas y mermeladas en el Ecuador

Internationalization is an important phenomenon in a globalized society, so this research aims to analyze the factors that determine the internationalization (export intensity) of export companies established and born global sector processing of compotes, jams, jellies, purees and other fruit or nuts from Ecuador. Secondary sources such as the Superintendence of Securities and Insurance Companies (SUPERCIAS), the Internal Revenue Service (SRI) and the Central Bank of Ecuador (BCE) were used for the investigation. With these secondary sources, descriptive data were collected to identify the exporting companies and global born for the 2014-2018 period. In addition, an econometric multiple linear regression model was used to show the relationship between the variables export intensity, age, size and growth. The main results obtained show the presence of global born companies and established exporters in the market. In the econometric model the export intensity was the variable explained, specifically by age and size, while the growth variable was not statistically significant (p-value 0.3726). Therefore, it is concluded that the youngest exporting companies and the largest business size are those with the greatest export intensity (99%).
