Novel broad-spectrum β-lactamase inhibitor

The present invention discloses a novel broad-spectrum β-lactamase inhibitor compound. The structure of the compound is represented by formula (I). An investigation studying the effects of the compound provided by the invention on the activities of six types of β-lactamase from four categories revealed that the compound suppressed an activity of multiple types of β-lactamases. The compound also strongly inhibited, when combined with a β-lactamase antibiotic, the growth of various β-lactamase-producing bacteria. The compound can be developed into a pharmaceutical product with the ability to restore an anti-bacterial activity of a β-lactamase antibiotic, thereby treating and preventing a bacterial infection in an animal or human subject, and providing significant social and economic benefits.
