Культурно-исторический подход А. Я. Гуревича к литературному произведению как источнику исторических знаний о личности

The article explores the features of cultural and historical approach to a literary work treated as a source of historical knowledge on personality on the example of Aaron Gurevich's works. Analyzing the skaldic poetry or sagas Gurevich looks for the manifestations of personality of their authors, considering the influence of the historical era on them. This approach was named “the path of subjectivity” in the methodology of humanities and it pays great attention to the historical self-disclosure of a person in a literary work.
