SAW transmission across wedge-like contacts in composite substrates

Transmission of a harmonic SAW across the interface between two elastically anisotropic 90°-wedges is studied using FEM in frequency domain. The wedges are in contact along a pair of their faces. The contact is either perfectly rigid or perfectly sliding. The structures under modelling are constructed of LiNbO 3 , Si and GaAs. It is assumed that the SAW is always incident from LiNbO 3 . The transmission coefficient is computed and analyzed as a function of the angle of incidence, the combination of materials and the orientation of LiNbO 3 , as well as of the height of the step at the interface between the two parts of the substrate.
