Conservative Attitude Preserving Ocular Globe in Surgery of Ethmoid Tumor Extended to the Orbit

2015
The aim is to underline the importance of preserving ocular globe in surgery of ethmoid tumor extended to the orbit, especially in those cases without orbital periosteum invasion. The method consists in a synthesized exposure of the preoperative strategy/plan in approach of cases with ethmoid tumor extended to the orbit and presentation of a selected clinical case. Establishing a preoperative plan (imaging, endoscopic exam, ophthalmologic control, neurosurgical exam, Hystopathological and Immunochemistry exams) that identifies as accurately the degree of invasion of the orbit; forming a surgical team that has knowledge, abilities and experience in using all modern technologies, adapted to the approach type necessary for conservation ocular globe and whenever needed including an eye surgeon in surgical team.
