The effect of 7 medications used in the treatment of hereditary motor-sensory neuropathies and myotonic dystrophy on free radical oxidation was studied. The rate of influence was evaluated by chemo luminescent changes in the model systems generating active oxygen species and lipid peroxide radicals. The most active antioxidants inhibiting chemo luminescence proved to be mexidol, pentoxifyllin, actovegin, cyanocobalamin. Thiamin, combilipen, cerebrolysin act less effectively. Thus, the studied medications have effect on free radical oxidation.
