Successful EUS-guided FNA through a colonic stent array for diagnosis of an extraluminal pelvic malignancy causing colonic obstruction

2012
To date, data on the management of CBDS in pregnancy are scarce. Sharma and Maharshi4 described a twostep procedure with biliary sphincterotomy and stenting without fluoroscopy or US assistance as a first step and definitive ERCP with stone extraction after delivery. In another series, the appearance of yellow fluid (bile) in the catheter was considered to demonstrate correct cannulation of the bile duct.5 In our approach, EUS was used to ubstantiate the indication for ERCP. Contrast-enhanced S proved to be an excellent alternative to fluoroscopy for he guidance of biliary cannulation. In countries like the Figure 3. Position of the guide wire within the common bile duct confirmed by transabdominal US before papillotomy.
