A Broadband Metamaterial Polarization Converter Based on Split Ring Resonators

2019
In this paper, a broadband polarization converter is proposed. It consists of inclined split ring resonators printed on the top layer of a double-sided copper circuit board and a dielectric substrate. Our converter is able to change an incidence of linear polarization to its orthogonal orientation, in the frequency range of 8.8 - 22.14 GHz, while maintaining a polarization conversion ratio of more than 90% and the bandwidth of more than 86%.
