The Hubble constant free from local velocity effects

Galaxies from the Muenster Redshift Project (MRSP) with redshifts up to z = 0.15 are referred to a common redshift z r = 0.1 in order to obtain an apparent luminosity function (LF). A comparison LF is constructed from Virgo cluster members and subsequently used in a simulation of the Friedmann-Lemaitre universe with a freely chosen value for the Hubble constant. The simulation takes into account the known redshift errors of the MRSP. With an adopted distance modulus for the Virgo cluster, the true Hubble constant can be determined from the magnitude shift between the observed MRSP-LF and the LF obtained from the simulation
