Effect on Worker Health of Emerging Gas and Fume in Fusion Welding Methods

A welding process is that two different or same metals are melted down, and during welding treatment, there are produced harmful wastes such as some gases or reek which are danger for the health of the welder arising from the welding electrode. If some problems are occurred by exposure duration time, field of study and protective materials, the generated of gases and reeks will cause to be damage in short and long time. In addition to these, many disease come into existence because of these detrimental matters. The welding operation product is the reek which include dust of iron, aluminum, beryllium, lead, mangan and nickel will give rise to poisoning, respiratory irritation and tract diseases, cancer in long period of time, and coughing, bronchitis, dyspnoea, eye irritation, diminishing appetite, cramping, nausea and vomiting are transiently occurred by dust of metals in reek. In additionally, gases that is generated during the welding operation show an alteration with respect to different methods, and these gases will be invisible and fragrant or unscented. If there are not extremely exposed to carbon dioxide and argon gases in product of welding gases by welders, these gases are relatively innocuous. However, due to the fact that some very harmful gases such as ozone, carbon monoxide, and nitrogen dioxide are extremely toxicity effect, these gases are very detrimental matters. In the light of all of the facts mentioned above, the most effective protection mechanism is the local aspiration from the gases and reek, and protection of the welder’s inspiration level provide with using local aspiration because in this method, the gases and reek are absorbed that is no arriving to the welder in welding operation. However, when the other methods which are not unappropriate to the same as local aspiration such as inert gas methods, FFP2 mask which both produce as nonflammable and barrier to the gases and reek have standard of TS EN 149 have to be used. In serial production operation, welding cabin should be used for protecting of the other employees.
