Study on the chemical composition of shoot and leaf of Camellia oleiferaelite varieties of different ecological regions in Anhui Province

2012
【Objective】 To comprehend the effect of different ecological regions on the growth of oil-tea Camellia, the chemical composition of shoot and leaf of main varieties of Camellia oleifera of three ecological regions in Anhui Province were studied and compared,to provide theoretical basis for promotion of C.oleifera of northern edge in this paper.【Method】 18 elite cultivars of shoot and leaf of C.oleifera from the three regions were selected as experimental materials. The content of water,benzene-ethanol extracts,holo-cellulose,cellulose,lignin and other chemical compositions of shoot and leaf were determined to compare the difference of chemical compositions of shoot and leaf among the three ecotypes of C.oleifera.【Result】 The results showed that:(1)In all tested samples, the content range of water,benzene-ethanol extracts,holo-cellulose,cellulose,lignin varied respectively from 44.3%-50.1%,10.8%-26.2%,0.28%-0.57%,0.12%-0.25% and 0.13%-0.28%.(2)In the same ecotype, the contents of benzene-ethanol extracts of leaf were higher than that of shoot, and the other material contents were quite the contrary.(3)In the three ecotypes, the contents of benzene-ethanol extracts, the cellulose and lignin were the highest and the water contents of shoot and leaf and holo-cellulose of shoot were the lowest of the most northern edge of C.oleifera;there were significant differences in the contents of holo-cellulose,cellulose of shoots at the level of P=0.01 and P=0.05 respectively;and there was significant difference in the content of holo-cellulose of leaves at P=0.05;there was no significant difference in water and lignin content.【Conclusion】 There were significant differences of the chemical composition of shoot and leaf among different ecological regions. In the future production of C.oleifera of northern edge, many different cultivation measures such as improving the content of benzene-ethanol extracts and the cellulose and lignin, reducing water content and holo-cellulose content were taken to improve the stress resistance of C.oleifera.
