Design of 33 GHz 65-nm-CMOS Small-Formfactor Direct-Conversion Receiver for Non-Invasive Continuous Glucose Monitoring

This paper proposes design of 33GHz 65nm-CMOS small-formfactor direct-conversion receiver for non-invasive continuous glucose monitoring. Direct-conversion receiver architecture is employed to achieve small formfactor and reduce power consumption. For evaluating the proposed technique, SPICE simulation and mask layout in 65nm CMOS was conducted. SPICE simulation confirms that a strength of a received signal varies with the blood glucose level. Mask layout shows accommodation to 0.46 ×1.26 mm 2 , which corresponds to 33% formfactor reduction compared to the previous implementation.
