Case report Rupture of the extensor hallucis longus tendon after ankle arthroscopy—An unusual complication

2007
Complications following ankle arthroscopy are frequent. The most common complication reported is neurologic injury. Other complications include vascular injury, reflex sympathetic dystrophy, synovitis, instrument breakage, painful scars and fibula fracture. We present a case of extensor hallucis tendon rupture after ankle arthroscopy. A rare complication not previously reported. This was treated surgically with an uneventful recovery. # 2006 European Foot and Ankle Society. Published by Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
