The invention relates to a device for image inspection of printed sheets (16) on a rotating cylinder (7, 9). The device is characterized in that a scanning device (6) for detecting individual image points (10, 11) of the printed sheets (16) on the rotating cylinder (7, 9) is provided and that after detection of a first printing sheet (16) through the scanning means (6) on the rotating cylinder (7, 9) at least one of the following printed sheets (16) by a fraction of a pixel (10, 11) offset from the scanning device (6) is detected.
