Portals and Technique for Diagnostic Elbow Arthroscopy

Arthroscopy of the elbow is a useful operative technique that allows safe and effective access to difficult regions of the joint in a minimally invasive manner. Advances in technology and equipment have made arthroscopy an effective and safe method for evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide array of elbow pathologies. Creation of safe and precise portals with a thorough understanding of the location of the neurovascular structures is paramount. This chapter focuses on the ability to safely carry out the diagnostic assessment of the elbow in a safe and reproducible manner.
