Synthetic and electroluminescent properties of polymer containing phenothiazine and oxadiazole units

A novel copolymer. Poly[N-[(2-ethyl)-hexyl]-2,7(8)-phenothianinylenevinylene-co-2,5-bis[2,2'-didodecyloxy-(p-phenylenevinylene)]-1,3,4-oxadiazole] (P-PT-OXA-EH) exhibiting high decomposing temperature (T dc = 352 °C), was designed and synthesized successfully. The single-layer device of TFO / P-PT-OXA-EH / Ca/Ag was fabricated and bright yellow emission was obtained with a peak wavelength of 566 nm. At 40 mA current, the brightness of the device made through 0.3 % polymeric solution in chloroform is about 2000 cd / m 2 on 102 mm 2 display area, and the output efficiency of the device is about I %.
