Metrological opportunities of direct three-dimensional measurement of objects by means of the Kinect controller

The metrological possibilities of the Kinect controller for direct measurement of objects are considered in this review. The principal components of the controller, the principle of its operation and the main technologies compiling Kinect are considered.
