Social and behavioural questions associated with automated vehicles
2017
The UCL Transport Institute (UCLTI) was commissioned by the Department for Transport to conduct a scoping study to identify the key social and behavioural questions that should be addressed relating to automated vehicles (AVs). The study consisted of: a literature review; a series of group events and interviews with stakeholders; and a workshop with representatives of the government-funded “four cities driverless vehicles” trials1 in the UK, which was followed up by visits to these trials.
