Analysis of Fatty Acid Composition of Buckwheat Seeds by Trimethylsilyl-Esterifying/GC/MS

2011
Rude fat from buckwheat seeds was extracted by Soxhler extraction method with ethyl ether as solvent. After being derived by trimethylsilyl-esterifying with N,O-bis(trimethylsilyl) acetamide and methyl-esterifying catalyzed by KOH/MeOH,the fatty acid was analyzed by GC/MS.The results showed the extraction rate of fatty acid was 4.96% and 18 kinds of fatty acids were obtained through trimethylsilyl-esterifying treatment. The main components were linoleic acid(34.69%),oleic acid(31.08%),palmitic acid(17.19%),stearic acid(2.83%),linolenic acid(2.27%),ricosanoic acid(2.27%).Comparing with the methyl-esterifying catalyzed by KOH/MeOH,the trimethylsilyl-esterifying could more thoroughly analyze the fatty acid composition of buckwheat seeds.
