Hot-wire anemometry at very high frequencies: effect of electronic noise

The random response from hot-wire anemometers with a mean-square spectral output proportional to recently reported by Saddoughi and Veeravalli (1996 Meas. Sci. Technol. 7 1297 - 300) has been noted previously. A discussion is given of the relevant results.
