Efficient dual-band energy harvesting system for implantable biosensors
2016
This paper studies a dual-band antenna and a rectifying circuit that can be integrated together with the aim of harvesting enough power for the operation of an implantable glucose sensor. A capacitively-loaded printed inverted F-antenna (IFA) on a flexible thin Liquid Crystal Polymer Rogers substrate in addition to a schottky-diode based single stage rectifying circuit were designed and simulated to work at frequencies of 1.6 GHz and 2.4 GHz, and to achieve high RF-to-DC conversion efficiency.
