Treatment of Femoral Neck Fractures in Young Adults with Quadratus Femoris Muscle Pedicled Bone

Objective To study the effect of the treatment of femoral neck fractures in young and middle aged adults with quadratus femoris muscle pedicled bone. Methods 16 cases of femoral neck fractures in young and middle aged adults were treated by quadratus femoris muscle pedicled bone combined with multiple screws. Results It showed excellent outcomes after 1~3 years in 16 cases follow-up. The femoral neck fractures have been healed. There was 1 ischemic necrosis of femoral head. Their functions of the hips were satisfactory. Conclusion The technique can improve the healing of the femoral neck fractures in the young and middle aged adults and reduce the occurrence of nonunion and avascular necrosis of femoral head.
