The invention discloses a method and a device for remote card writing. The method comprises the following steps of enabling a server to obtain a current first number of an identity identification card, and obtain a to-be-replaced second number of the identity identification card, and sending an IMSI (international mobile subscriber identification number) corresponding to the second number to the identity identification card; enabling the server to cancel the binding relationship between the IMSI corresponding to the first number and the identity identification card, and establishing the binding relationship between the subscriber identity identification card and the IMSI corresponding to the second number; enabling the subscriber identity identification card to use the IMSI corresponding to the second number to replace the IMSI corresponding to the first number, and storing; enabling the server to send the number activating information to an HLR (home location register) to activate the second number, sending the second number activating information to the identity identification card, and notifying that the second number of the identity identification card has been activated. By adopting the technical scheme, only the number is replaced through the interaction between the identity identification card and the server, and the replacement of the subscriber identity identification card is not needed, so the operation process is convenient and rapid.
