A Novel Scheme for Photonic Generation of Broadly Tunable Radio Frequency Signals

A novel scheme for photonic generation of broadly tunable radio frequency signals using a reflective semiconductor optical amplifier is demonstrated. The bandwidth of generated radio frequency signal ranges from 20 to 300 GHz.
