Builder and siliceous their use in detergents and cleaners, as well as multicomponent mixtures for use in this subject area

1994
The subject matter of the invention is alkali metal silicates in the modulus range (SiO2 to M2O molar ratio in which M = alkali metal) of 1 to 4 as a solid material which has been dried, by means of a hot gas flow, from an aqueous alkali metal silicate preparation sprayed in droplet form (primary dry material) but which can also be comminuted and/or compacted by the simultaneous and/or subsequent effect of mechanical force (secondary dry material). The teaching of the invention is characterized in that the primary dry material has apparent densities of less than 150 g/l and is produced by means of superheated steam as the hot gas flow. This primary dry material can be broken up and/or compacted in particular into the form of flakes (secondary dry material). The primary dry material and thus also the material which has possibly been comminuted or compacted is preferably in the form of superdried material having maximum water contents of approximately 15 wt %. The subject matter of the invention is further multi-substance mixtures, in particular from the field of detergents and washing agents, characterized in that they contain these superdried alkali metal silicates. Finally, the subject matter of the invention is the use of X-ray amorphous superdried alkali metal silicates as multi-purpose mixing components having a builder effect and a high absorption capacity for flowable auxiliary and valuable substances in mixtures in the field of solid detergents and washing agents.
