Carrier Waveform Predistortion Technology for Nonlinear Devices

In order to improve the output power and power efficiency of the power amplifier, and to promote the qualities of the I/Q RF modulated signals and the modulated signals passed through amplification system, the traditional method is to optimize the load impedance and baseband predistortion. In this paper, a new technique is proposed, which combine the "carrier waveform predistortion technology" and "carrier and baseband combined predistortion technology". For the carrier, instead of the continuous wave of a single frequency, a sum of the fundamental wave and the harmonics of specific amplitude and phase is used as the carrier. For the baseband signal, the power exponential polynomial with a certain delay of the baseband signal is used to generate the predistorted baseband signal. And then carrier waveform predistortion and baseband predistortion are combined for optimization. Preliminary experiments have shown that this method can improve the power efficiency of the power amplifier.
