Nonlocal conserved currents for the modified chiral model in (2 + 1) dimensions

We show that the technique of Brezin et al. for constructing nonlocal conserved currents for 2-dimensional models can be extended to certain special models in (2 + 1) dimensions. We construct an infinite number of these currents for the modified chiral model in (2 + 1) dimensions. We obtain general expressions for the corresponding charges. In addition, we derive an alternative linear system for this model from our constructed nonlocal currents. We highlight some features of our modelling and offer comments.
