Evaluation of [99mTc]N-phosphoryl-aminoethyl-phosphate ([99mTc)PAEP) as imaging agent in acute myocardial infarction
1984
Abstract Technetium-99 m N-phosphorylaminoethyl-phosphate (PAEP), a new bone seeking agent, was compared to [ 99 m Tc]pyrophosphate (PYP) in dogs with exprementally induced myocardial necrosis. The evaluation of [ 99 m Tc]PAEP in canine models of acute myocardial infarction showed equal infract concentration to PYP, but delayed uptake. This was related to the slow blood clearance of PAEP. Nevertheless the high infarct localization of [ 99 m Tc]PAEP combined with the low LD 50 values suggests a further evaluation of the new 99 m Tc-complex in humans
