Cutaneous natural killer (NK)/T-cell lymphoma: nasal type with extensive facial destruction

IntroductionNon-Hodgkin’s lymphomas (NHL) represent about 5%of all cancers. They are mostly nodal, although extra-nodal involvement is diagnosed in 26–40% of cases.NK/T-cell lymphoma – nasal type, is a rare primarycutaneous variant of NHL being recognized as an inde-pendent entity in mature T-cell and NK neoplasm groupof the World Health Organization (WHO)/EuropeanOrganization for Research and Treatment of Cancer(EORTC) classification for cutaneous lymphomas. Theyare characterized by specific geographic predominancewithin Asia and South America, Epstein–Barr virus (EBV)infection and aggressive and destructive course with poorprognosis is observed even in cases with a fast diagnosisand an optimal treatment.
